This Privacy Policy explains how Kontext (“Kontext,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, apps, and related services, including SMS and other messaging channels.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — such as name, email address, business details, and authentication identifiers you provide when creating or using a Kontext account.
- Business and communications data — content and metadata related to messages, contacts, bookings, and other features you choose to use in Kontext Business and related products.
- Mobile phone numbers — when you or your end users provide a number to receive SMS or MMS from Kontext or from a business using Kontext messaging features.
- Usage and device data — such as log data, approximate location derived from IP address, browser/app type, and product interaction events needed to operate and secure the service.
SMS / Mobile Messaging Disclosures
We use your mobile number only to deliver messages you (or the business you interact with) have consented to receive, such as account alerts, appointment reminders, customer-care replies, and service updates. Mobile numbers and opt-in data are only used to deliver messages you have requested or consented to receive.
We do not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances.

2. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve Kontext products and support.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts, systems, and communications against abuse.
- Send transactional and service-related messages you request or that are necessary to operate features you enable.
- Send SMS/MMS only where valid consent exists for that program.
- Comply with law, carrier rules, and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that process data for us (for example hosting, authentication, email/SMS delivery such as Twilio, analytics, and support tools), under contractual obligations to use the data only to provide services to us. This does not include sharing mobile numbers or SMS consent data for any marketing or promotional purpose.
- Business customers using Kontext — if you text or otherwise interact with a business on Kontext, that business may receive the content and contact details needed to respond to you.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
Except as described above, we do not share personal information for unrelated third-party marketing. We do not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and to understand how the product is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Messaging logs and contact records may be retained by Kontext and/or the business that messaged you according to their settings and legal requirements.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong authentication and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Your choices
- SMS opt-out: Reply STOP to any Kontext or Kontext-powered SMS. After opting out you will receive a confirmation and we will stop SMS to that number for that program, except as required by law.
- Account data: You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information by emailing team@kontext.network, subject to legal retention needs.
- Marketing email: Where we send optional marketing email, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message.
8. Children’s privacy
Kontext is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International users
Kontext is operated from the United States. If you access the service from another country, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
